Chillwave psychedelic rock

Jib Kidder have an interesting formula for songwriting. Many of the tracks on this album give a solid spacey, psychedelic experience to the listener, which for the most part consist of atmospheric electronic beats, guitar strumming, and intricate drumming in the background. The vocals often have some sort of distortion on them, and the singing style is laid-back and usually off-tempo. Throw in the occasional vocal sample or ethereal saxophone bit and you‰’ve got some pretty aurally intriguing but nonetheless pleasing songs. Sometimes the looped beats take on the role for the primary instrument of a song, like on “The Waves‰Û, which commands a bit more attention from the listener. That being said, the album is overall incredibly “chill‰” in nature; I imagine it‰’d be my first choice if I had to set music to a looped video of a lava lamp. In fact this album would probably be best enjoyed sitting in a room full of lava lamps.
