If Disclosure was a little less House and a little more electronic-funk, this is what it would sound like.

If you are over emotional with a love for rap, pop or R&B, you’ve probably been following the growth of Drake’s OVO collective, which includes the likes of Majiid Jordan. In a sentence, Eliot Lipp’s Watch The Shadows sounds like a happier version of Majiid Jordan’s catalog.

If you weren’t a fan of the drunk, Jersey Shore boardwalk anthem “Hold On We’re Going Home”, then you probably don’t know who Majiid Jordan is, so think of Watch The Shadows as a Disclosure album, if Disclosure was a little less House and a little more electronic-funk.

Watch The Shadows, while a solid album, is not as impressive as it could’ve been. The album has solid tracks like “Watch The Shadows” and “Still Life”, but tracks like “Ain’t No Guarantee” leave listeners questioning, could Eliot Lipp have tried to incorporate a wider variety of sound on this album. At the end of track ten, the album can be described as good, but it could’ve been great.
