Ultimate Intimacy is always a radio show and is often fun. In the past I’ve tried to restrict my show to two or three genres, but that never lasts long. This time I’ll just say that my favorite artists are people like The Walkmen, The Magnetic Fields, Grandaddy, Prince, Lightning Bolt, Mr. Bungle, Silver Jews and, as of this year, Shilpa Ray. I am not sorry for party rocking (I’m sure this reference will be exactly as funny in nine months as it is today).

Explore the mythical and confounding world of progressive and strange rock and roll. Take a tour of the brilliant, talented and bizarre bounty of experimental and unique rock, from Rush to The Mars Volta to Dream Theater. You can expect to hear everything on the rock and roll spectrum whether it be aged and pure classical acoustics or electronic ambience laced with heavy chords and trumpet work. I will try to guide you through the eclectic and odd jungle of mad melodies with insight that extend beyond names and timeframes. If I can’t then I’ll probably just blabber on about something inconsequential. Regardless, the tunes will flow as freely as water in this veritable oasis of sound.

Sleep deprivation and the like are the unfortunate effects of “The Morning After”. Rosemary’s and my show, The Morning After, aims to heal the ailing college student while they are wide awake at 4-5am on Sundays. We’ll play some chill Indie music to wind down and relax to. Despite the name of this show, there actually is neither rhyme nor reason in terms of what I decide to play. Basically, it tends to be whatever I’m finding enjoyable at the moment, and that tends to include music with loud guitars. Same of my favorite artists include The White Stripes (or anything associated with Jack White, really), Arcade Fire, The National, The Hold Steady, and Wilco. If you like these kind of bands, great! If not, tune in and give it a try anyways.
