Upbeat synth rock constructing genius songs

Just like Reptar can “dance with the waltzes in your mind,‰” listeners can dance with the catchy anthems from Lurid Glow. With smooth, brassy synths and bumping bass, the album has a universal, cohesive sound without all tracks sounding too similar. The songs are reminiscent of the punchy and catchy songwriting style of Arctic Monkeys, yet synthed up instead of rocked out. The strong, captivating, and unique vocals nestle in a tangled forest of interweaving synth lines that compete and contrast, yet somehow fall together in a harmony. Reptar‰’s sound is characterized by polyphonic synths, bass, and even xylophones, like on “Amanda‰Û, that are a refreshing change from the ever present distorted power chords that indie rock bands often fall back upon.
