WVAU is proud to present this spring’s Capitol Punishment concert: The Antlers with Boon on Saturday, April 18th in the Abramson Family Founders Room in SIS at American University.

Brooklyn-based indie rock act The Antlers formed in 2006 as frontman Peter Silberman’s solo project. The band gained critical and popular success in 2009 with the release of their record Hospice on Frenchkiss Records. The album was featured on numerous year-end lists for 2009 from Pitchfork Media to NPR Music. They have since released two full-length albums and two EPs, most recently with 2014’s full-length Familiars on Los Angeles-based record label ANTI-.

The Antlers are known for their massive sound and arrangements, and will soon embark on a tour in support of Death Cab for Cutie. They are supported by DC and AU’s very own Boon, which is comprised of Brendan Principato, Jesse Paller, Luke Ramsey and Drew Sher. Boon are influenced by “tequila and Spongebob” and were recently featured among NPR Music’s finalists for the Tiny Desk Concert competition series.

FREE to all AU student with a valid student ID, the show is open to the American University community.
