If you haven‰’t checked out Amazing Radio on YouTube, set aside an afternoon or two to check out some of the amazing upcoming artists in the music world. You won‰’t regret it.

As technology increases, so does the amount of electronic, computer-generated music. Now don‰’t get me wrong. This genre of music is both exciting and invigorating, especially when played live. However, in my opinion, nothing shows a musician‰’s passion more than good old, stripped-down acoustic music.

In my recent internet music exploration, I came across an acoustic performance by British artist Eva Stone of her song “Runaway.‰” Initially under the impression that this would be an ordinary piece of indie music, I was absolutely blown away by Stone‰’s soulful vocals and bluesy arrangement. Not to mention, her singing style completely contradicts the shy, almost squeaky voice she uses to introduce herself before she begins playing.

Stone starts with a mellow yet classically robust blues melody on both her guitar and vocals. As she gets to the higher notes, her incredibly controlled vibrato becomes apparent, making the listener realize how talented she actually is. Similarly, as the soulfulness of the song exponentially grows, so do her lyrics that amplify her feminine independence.

Stone sings, “That‰’s why I don‰’t believe a word you say‰” and, “you know no other girl can put it down like me.‰” As she sings the lyrics, “Are you just intimidated by me?‰” Stone smiles a proud, satisfied grin.

Some of Stone‰’s other acoustic pieces can be found on the Burberry Acoustic and MrLoftSessions YouTube pages. Like this one, they are beautiful.
