Ticket Giveaway to The Dance Party at R&R Hotel

We’ve got two tickets to for a show this Friday at the Rock & Roll Hotel. And you know you want to party for free.

The Dance Party is a disco/synth rock act originally from DC. They’ve also spent time recently working in L.A. and are known for being very “over the top” with their outrageous parties in Hollywood. If this doesn’t say enough about them, fellow DC band US Royalty is on their myspace Top 8, alongside Ladyhawke, The Friday Night Boys, and Miss Beyonce Knowles at the number two spot. Hot.

The contenders:
Burt Bacharach vs. Elton John

If these two were put in a boxing ring together, tell us who you think would win the fight, and why!

Anyone can enter to win. Please enter by replying to this post. The contest ends Wednesday at midnight, and the winner will be announced by email Thursday morning.

We will pick the winners based on the best answer to the match fight. Who’s gonna finish on top?!

  • Label this one under “Friday Night Sissy Fights.” Two flamboyant British guys going blow for blow (literally). In a street fight, Mr. Saturday Night Elton John would probably take him down (literally). Plus Burt Bacharach is like fucking 80.

Sir Elton John in the 2nd Round.

  • If celebrity death match has taught me anything,
it’s never underestimate what can happen in the ring.

Ok, so going by the tale of the tape-
Sir Elton has a 20 year age advantage and about 300 lbs. on Burt, and that’s enough for some to jump the gun on this one.

    BUT
The fact that Burt Bacharach is still breathing alludes to either:
A)He discovered the fountain of youth while swooning in the mid fifties
    B) He devours the souls of the innocent to stay young and powerful.

    I’m leaning towards B.

When it’s all said and done Burt has a lot more time in his elder years to do what every celeb does that age; hone his skill in mixed marshal arts.
Burt takes it, winner by KO in round 1.

As a side note, Elton lays defeated on the ground and Burt would further the humiliation of defeat by singing “What’s New Pussycat” until John is ushered out of the ring.

  • Elton may have the edge in a tennis match, but I think it’s Burt all the way.

  • Elton John starred as a lion or served as some critical agent in a Disney movie on lions/ lions coming of age: +1 Elton. If you Google Image search “Burt Bacharach” a half-dozen pictures of Burt touching Dionne Warwick’s shoulder appear. Dionne seems to be looking forward to Burt not touching her sequenced shoulder. Decision: Elton by a judge’s decision.

  • Elton John would most definitely win cuz he’d “thcratch your eyeth out, you brute”

  • Burt Bacharach would win! I hope I’m not too late!

  • Sorry Francis but their concert was last friday. In the meantime, you can tell Alex he can stay tuned for more WVAU contests to come.
